Time

(Walking on the moon- The Police) Time. With all the advances in science, with all the progress of humanity, with all its uses, we are still not able to explain what this fundamental aspect of life is or how it works or why. There is a theory that I quite like that says that time is the fourth dimension. Nothing like reading one of my favorite books called Flatland to understand this theory, but for those who do not have the time to read a book of about one hundred pages, who are you kidding? You do have the time, you’re just lazy, admit it, no worries, just don't say you don't have time, because time is not something we have, it is something we dedicate to what we want. Most of us waste it very often but that is another story that will be (The Kraken-Hans Zimmer) told on another occasion. Back to the theory of dimensions. For people who are lazy to read a hundred-page booklet, don't they feel lazy to read my blog? I guess not, but anyway, for them, this theory suggests that time is set, that it cannot change; that the future and the past are sides of a figure. To understand how a fourth dimension is possible, you have to understand the first three: length, height and depth. I'm not sure those are their official names or their specific order but look at it this way: a line has a dimension, a square (We didn't start the fire- Billy Joel) has two and a cube has three. Now imagine that we, the human beings who occupy three dimensions in space, were to occupy nothing more than two; that we were flat, no joke. That we were a page of a book. Now imagine that someone draws a diagonal line on the edge of the book. This line appears as a dot on each page and on each page it is in a different location. If someone turned the pages, it would seem that the point moves. If we were flat, we would see the point, which is actually a line, moving. We would not be able to perceive height, as today, we are unable to size an infinite, even if it is there, since even a page of a book has a minimum height. Well, in the same way, the theory (Radio Ga Ga-Queen) suggests that time is there and that we perceive it as the progress of events; as a point that moves when it is actually a fixed line. If this theory were true, that means that we cannot change our destiny, that everything is already fixed and some people feel like that plays with our will power and our ability to change the future, but no. If we have the capacity to make decisions, it does not matter if it is our "destiny", if it was already established that we were going to do that. It does not matter. But the question arises: why can't we go back in time if it is a dimension in which we move? Who knows. Another interesting thing about time is that it is divided into past and future but in reality the present, it cannot be defined because, as time goes by, there are milliseconds that we cannot (I'm here- Shakira) measure but pass by, and a once they passed, they are already the past. The present cannot be measured. In addition, there may be infinite sub divisions of the second that we will never be able to measure. So we use the seconds, so long when we want them to end and so short when we want them to last, like everything in life, relative. But that is another story than being; told in another occasion. The point is that, we don't have much time in life, but we can fill it with worthwhile moments (Crucify your mind- Sixto Rodríguez). Let's not waste our time. Let's not waste our lives. Let's do things that are worth it.
